New Business Development Center Where Local Entrepreneurism Meets Job Creation Welcome In 2016, Grand Canyon University (GCU) and the Colangelo College of Business (CCOB) launched the Small Business Consulting Center, later renamed the New Business Development Center (NBDC), in support of local entrepreneurism and job creation. The goal of NBDC is to help local business owners grow in their knowledge and ultimately help their businesses thrive in the West Valley. Led by an ambassador team and mentors volunteer team, the center offers entrepreneurship training for students, alumni and the small business community in the Canyon Corridor. New Business Development Center manager and Colangelo College of Business faculty member Eduardo Borquez, along with several dozen GCU student ambassadors, provides the services and support to local business leaders. The NBDC has been featured in GCU Today , inBusiness Magazine , Phoenix Business Journal and La Voz Arizona . Our community supporters include Seed Sport, hive @ central, DAS Foundation, Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, and Canyon State Credit Union. Canyon Challenge Each spring, the Colangelo College of Business hosts the Canyon Challenge to give student-run businesses at GCU an opportunity to pitch their idea to professionals from the community to fund their business. Prospective business owners also have an opportunity to attract investors for additional capital investment during this event. Finalists are selected based on quality, professionalism and viability of the business idea. Canyon Angels Do you have the next big business idea?
